MARK HOPPER
Mark has spent over 25 years building and leading product teams that defined new product categories at startups to public technology companies such as OpenWave, VeriSign, Adobe, and Intuit. A true business decathlete, he has discovered and developed new products in consumer and enterprise applications, web, mobile, infrastructure, and cloud services.
In his career he has operated in leadership roles as General Manager, Product Management, Product Marketing, and Sales. Through these efforts he has built products and scaled business to serve over 1B customers, and delivered over $1B in revenue. He has a passion for the craft of product management, and exhibits a unique blend of customer obsession and go-to-market strategy.
Before starting The Product Foundry to pursue his interests in helping others create successful products, Mark has served in leadership functions in product management and product marketing. In these roles, he has led development of core products, ecommerce & marketing services, and the productization of customer support (Self Help).
Mark began his career with a decade as a sales executive for technology startups, including moving to California as a founding team member of AuraVision (sold to Broadlogic). He drove strategic partnerships with companies such as Hewlett Packard, Dell, Microsoft, and Macromedia. In these efforts he realized his true gifts resided in the creation of products and solutions.
After joining Unwired Planet (IPO as phone.com) Mark moved into product management and product marketing roles where he developed his passion for building great products that are loved by millions of users. Since that transition Mark has focused his career on developing the craft of product management. He has served in leadership roles at smaller companies (BitTorrent, Smith Micro software) and F500 technology companies (VeriSign, Adobe, Intuit).
At Adobe, Mark led product management and distribution efforts for Adobe’s consumer photography initiative. He developed a top 5 app store application, with over 50M downloads and customer activations. He also led the product efforts for the digital media business unit’s go-to-market efforts fueling customer acquisition efforts through adobe.com (4M visitors/week).
